It is geared toward younger children and is many little ones’ first Disney “ride.” Each Dumbo-themed gondola seats two people, with the smaller rider sitting on the inside. It is located in Fantasyland® Area at Magic Kingdom® Park. We parents will always love Dumbo the Flying Elephant® because 1) we rode it when we were young and 2) this attraction brings back so many great memories of Tad and Lily’s first trips to Magic Kingdom® Park.ĭumbo the Flying Elephant® is a midway-style ride similar to The Magic Carpets of Aladdin Attraction and Triceratop Spin. You’re given a circus ticket pager at the entrance, and then you’re free to explore the tent until your pager notifies you it’s your time to ride! This makes the wait go by faster. Tad is growing out of it, but it's still one of Lily's favorites. The queue of Dumbo the Flying Elephant is now covered in a big top tent with several new interactive elements, including rope climbs, trampolines and more. Dumbo the Flying Elephant® features jovial circus music, led by a band organ, and includes Dumbo's faithful friend, Timothy Mouse, atop a decorative hot-air balloon at the center of the attraction. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is one of the newest attractions at Walt Disney World and might move up a few spots as time goes on. The vibrant colors and attention to details were fantastic. Both Maggie and Molly were mesmerized watching Dumbo and I couldn’t get over the new water elements added to the ride. There wasn’t much of a crowd, so we hopped in line and I could hardly control my excitement. (And secretly… I was too!) The bright colors and beautiful scenery made it magical. I had seen pictures online from other’s experiences, but seeing it with my own eyes – just made it that much more exciting.Īs soon as Maggie saw the new Dumbo ride, she was shouting that she needed to ride it. Theme Park Tribune has previously reported on the theft of Buzzy, the animatronic star of Epcot’s long-shuttered Cranium. The excitement was building as we made our way to the back of the park, with signs leading the way to the new area. One of the iconic ride vehicles on the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom was stolen in 2018 and no one was ever arrested for the crime. We hadn’t visited the park since they opened part of the new Fantasyland area with the first of two Dumbo the Flying Elephant Rides. Last weekend, while we were at Disney World, I was so anxious for us to get to the Magic Kingdom.
